Phillip Phillips Makes American Idol History

Move over, Kelly Clarkson. Take a seat, Carrie Underwood. Continue to toil away in obscurity, Ruben Studdard.

Phillip Phillips has made history.

The Season 11 champion finished at number-two on the Digital Songs chart this week, as the single "Home" was downloaded 278,000 times, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Its the biggest sales week for any winner's coronation single since SoundScan began tracking downloads in 2003.

Moreover, it's the second-best digital sales week EVER for any American Idol contestant at any time, trailing only Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You," which debuted with 280,000 downloads.

Phillips' achievement is also the fourth most impressive debut of 2012, placing behind Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" (521,000), Maroon 5's "Payphone" featuring Wiz Khalifa (493,000) and Katy Perry's "Part of Me" (411,000).

The singer will soon be celebrating in a hospital bed, however. Once a high fever comes down, he is scheduled to undergo surgery in order to cure a kidney ailment. We wish him a speedy recovery!

Food, Home, and Family

In an effort to try and get ready for baby #2, I?ve been doing my best to make sure everything?s ready to go before the little chickpea makes her arrival. I just have this feeling that life with a two year old and a newborn baby won?t leave me much time but to sit on the couch and say MOOO.

I?m also worried I?m going to pull out my hair, because some days I think Baby Boo is plotting against me in anger against the soon to be arrival of our new family member. We?ve recently established time out, which has been a?how do I put this?

JOKE.

Time out doesn?t work when your toddler tells you to go away yourself and go on time out.

Seriously Boo?

Best idea you?ve ever had.

Despite willing to give anything for a nice foot massage, pedicure, and a full nights rest without 7 trips to the bathroom, I?m enjoying these past few months we have before things become a little different around here.

And let me tell you, I couldn?t be more excited for that change.

To begin, I?ve been doing a great job of making, writing down recipes, and taking pictures of food. I figure as long as I have some saved up for those days where I?ve done nothing but been a human cow, I?ll have something slightly more appealing for you to enjoy!

Most of these recipes/pictures are first runs and I still want to take my shot at them a few times. I like to try things out more than once before I post things, that way I know that it all works out.

And because I love to work extra hard for my readers to like me :) !

The above was an attempt at cauliflower pizza crust. I wasn?t too impressed with the texture of the crust, so I?m definitely going to try that again.

Other than food, I?ve been working hard to get my house in order that way I won?t worry about decorating/organizing after baby.

And because I don?t like to sleep?or sit?

First thing I tackled was cleaning out our closet.

Our closet didn?t have much room?Especially with all the hubs white shoes! :)

I think I did the best I could despite such little space. Trust me, whenever we have a house I?m getting a closet all to myself?I?ll let the hubby store his shoes in the garage.

Next I wanted to get rid of our big out of place black dresser, so for mother?s day my parents bought me this dresser at ?a thrift store?

?After a little bit of prep and paint, and almost putting my self in to labor, I ended up with this:

Slowly but surely, our room is coming together.

Lastly, but more importantly, we?ve been spending more time as a family every second we get.

As you may know my husband has been a busy little bee first with school, and now work, so we don?t get much time together. When we do have those days or a few hours, we take full advantage and spend it together doing something fun!

I couldn?t be more excited for what these next few months have in store for our little family. I love to watch us grow together as we pass each milestone.

Have a great Wednesday!!

Nepal fails to adopt blueprint, braces for turmoil

KATMANDU, Nepal (AP) ? Nepal sank into political turmoil Monday after lawmakers failed to agree on a new constitution, leaving the country with no legal government. The premier called new elections, but critics said he lacked the power to do so.

Security forces went on high alert and riot police patrolled the streets after several political parties called for rallies to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and protest his unilateral decision to call elections for November. Only a few peaceful protests were reported.

"The country has plunged into a serious crisis," said Ram Sharan Mahat, a senior leader of the country's second-largest party, the Nepali Congress, who said that six months would not be enough time to prepare for new polling.

"This government has no legitimate grounds to continue," he said.

The squabbling political parties in Nepal's Constituent Assembly had failed to agree on a new blueprint for the Himalayan nation by their own deadline of midnight Sunday, despite repeated extensions of the due date over the past four years.

A key sticking point was whether the country's states should be drawn to give regional power bases to ethnic minorities.

Writing the new constitution was supposed to cap an interim period aimed at solidifying details of Nepal's democracy after the country turned the page on centuries of royal rule and resolved a decade-long Maoist insurgency by bringing the former combatants into the political mainstream.

Bhattarai, from the party of the former Maoists, said the previous constitutional assembly, elected four years ago, had failed and must be dissolved, and that he would head a caretaker government until the Nov. 22 elections.

"We have no other option but to go back to the people and elect a new assembly to write the constitution," Bhattarai said in his announcement.

However, his plan immediately drew criticism from legal experts, who said any plans for new polling should be made in consultation with the country's other political parties.

"It was politically, legally and morally incorrect of the prime minister to announce fresh elections," said constitutional and legal expert Bhimarjun Acharya.

Police spokesman Binod Singh said thousands of police officers had been deployed in the capital, Katmandu, and major cities across the country to stop any violence in the coming days.

At a rally Monday in Katmandu, small groups of college students burnt effigies of Bhattarai and demanded his resignation. Police quickly put out the flames.

Separately, a group supporting the abolished monarchy also demanded the prime minister's resignation, blaming him for the country's political crisis. Police allowed the demonstrators to march through the center of Katmandu.

On Sunday, police had clashed briefly with protesters outside the Constituent Assembly, where political leaders from the country's four main parties had been meeting in a last-minute attempt to agree on a new constitution before the deadline.

Much of the debate was over whether to draw state boundaries in a way to boost the political power of the country's ethnic minorities.

Nepal's minority ethnic groups and low-caste communities were overshadowed for centuries by the country's elite. In the past couple of years, as Nepal has struggled to create a new government, those divisions have given rise to caste- and ethnic-based politicians, who insist their long-marginalized communities deserve to live in states that maximize their influence.

Thousands of protesters opposed to states drawn along ethnic and caste lines tried to push through a riot police blockade. Police pushed back and a scuffle ensued, with protesters throwing stones and police responding with tear gas and batons. Three policemen and several protesters were injured.

On the other side of the assembly hall, thousands of people demonstrated in support of states based on ethnicity. A thick police line kept the opposing groups apart.

The Constituent Assembly was elected to a two-year term in 2008 to draft a new constitution but has been unable to finish the task. Its tenure has been extended four times, but the Supreme Court rejected any further extensions.

The assembly's formation came two years after pro-democracy protests forced Nepal's king to give up authoritarian rule and restore democracy in the country. One of the assembly's first decisions was to abolish the centuries-old monarchy and convert Nepal into a republic.

The political parties have been able to resolve some other thorny differences in the past, including the future of thousands of Maoist rebel fighters who were confined to camps after giving up their armed revolt in 2006. However, they have not been able to agree on the ethnic issue.

I like to say that penny shares and stocktrading robots were made for one another, and it is just for this very reason as though it can discern the good picks from the bad, you can make a great amount of cash in the near term. It is looking at trends of the past and applies that to realtime market info to try to find overlaps between the 2 to further analyze.

Look for a full refund guarantee because this is both an indication of good faith from the publisher and proof that they are pushing a credible programme, but also simultaneously you can test the programme first hand before absolutely committing to it. It?s simple enough to do because you do not have to invest any cash, instead you can doublecheck the performances of the picks which it generates for you in the market to discover how well they do so you can know irrespective of whether you should be making an investment in its next string of picks. You now do not have to become obsessive about the most recent market reports. No more troublesome speculation about which shares to get and a lot less mistakes of which can on occasion be reasonably expensive. The system itself will tell you which stocks are ?winners? based primarily on its careful research into the market. Mix this with the best stockmarket dealing system and you've a remarkable investment tool to hand. Discipline and focus were occasionally out playing some other place.

Anger management techniques have the ability to truly transform your life for the better but only if you are willing to do the work and admit that your problem exists. This means that there is quite a lot to gain and it really is worth it if you can make your life better. A lot of issues have fed into the behaviors that you want to change. What you?ve got to do is decide which techniques will work the best for your life and then embrace them. With the right attitude, all of these anger management techniques can help you out.

When dealing with an anger problem, the worst thing you can do for yourself is ignore it or try to deny it. Perhaps the most common response to is to try to live like the problem doesn?t exist. You can?t take positive action until you accept your situation for what it is. You have to be able to admit to yourself and to the others in your life that you have to do something tangible about your situation.

You have to believe it and be sincere in your intentions. When you lack sincerity, you are only going to be fooling yourself, other people and you will be setting yourself up to fail. You can be told by everyone on the planet that you have anger issues but until you genuinely accept that this is true, you will only resist what they?re trying to tell you.

Anger outbursts that are way above what is normal and happen frequently are often triggered by many things. An anger issue is typically quite complicated and has quite a lot happening under its surface. If you want to help yourself, you need to identify the more highly stressful areas of your life.

You also need to learn about the different things that can trigger you to have an outburst of anger. This will require you to be totally honest with your self, and this is a potential obstacle. It?s important that you never lie to yourself about anything. Take a little bit of time to figure out a list for these kinds of things so that you?ll have an easier time modifying your behavior in a positive way.

It?s a fair assumption that lots of people truly do have chronic anger and resentment problems but do not actually know why. Some people may not even stop to try to figure it out. You might want to consider it though, especially if you have a lot of people trying to tell or hint at you that you have a problem. You have to be wondering why so many people keep saying these things. This is a very big clue and while you can ignore it, doing so wouldn?t be a good idea. This is an idea that you should accept and then take a good objective look at yourself.

One of the most interesting parts of anger management techniques is how cooperative they are with each other. You can approach anger from many different angles. This is mostly because it deals with your insides as well as your outsides. A lot of different techniques are worth exploring so be prepared to work with more than one method at a time.

Greek euro exit would be a recipe for hardship

(AP) ? As Greece creaks under its untenable debt and a shrinking economy, the possibility that it could stop using the euro is becoming increasingly likely. The effects of such a move would be as quick as they would be brutal for ordinary Greeks, who would essentially take a 50-percent pay cut just as prices soar.

Here's a look at what else could happen:

    THE RETURN OF THE DRACHMA

No other country has ever left the 17-country eurozone before and there are no procedures in the EU's vast rulebook that would push any country out. But one fear is that the Greeks could decide to vote in an anti-austerity government on June 17 that may then decide to renege on the terms of the multi-billion-euro bailout which has been keeping the country afloat. Greece could be then forced into a messy exit from the euro bloc. It would then have no choice but to start printing its own currency ? the drachma ? to pay its way.

According to the Greek think tank Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE), such a move would hit the Greek people hard ? and quickly. The new drachma would lose half or more of its value relative to the euro. This would drive up inflation and sap the purchasing power of the average Greek. At the same time, the country's economic output would drop, putting more people out of work where one in five is already unemployed. The prices of imported goods would skyrocket, putting them out of reach for many.

    THE DASH FOR CASH

The prospect of Greece leaving the euro and dealing with a devalued drachma has already prompted many people to start withdrawing their euros out of the country's banks.

"Fear has gripped many who are withdrawing their money," said IOBE head of research Aggelos Tsakanikas.

Although the latest bank deposit figures aren't yet available, Greek President Karolos Papoulias last week said about ?700 million ($898 million) in deposits was taken out of banks the week after the May 6 election. What's more, according to central bank data, Greek banks have been hemorrhaging money for almost three years now ? from a high of ?237.8 billion ($302.5 billion) worth of deposits in Sept. 2009 down to ?165.3 billion ($210.3 billion) in March this year.

A victory for anti-bailout lawmakers in the June 17 election would likely trigger an even bigger bank run, said Dimitris Mardas, associate professor of economics at the University of Thessaloniki. Greek authorities, Mardas predicts, would respond by imposing controls on the movement of money for as long as it takes for the panic to subside.

    WHAT ABOUT HOMES AND SAVINGS?

As the new drachma quickly loses its value against other currencies, ordinary Greeks' savings and pensions will shrink just as rapidly. Analyst Vangelis Agapitos estimates that inflation under the new drachma would quickly reach 40 to 50 percent to catch up with the fall in the new currency's value. This would make everything much more expensive.

"People are going to need five times the amount of money they would have needed to purchase something," Agapitos said.

To stop the falling value of the drachma, interest rates would have to be increased to as high as 30 to 40 percent, according to Agapitos. People will then be unable to pay off their loans and mortgages and the country's banks would have to be nationalized to stop them from going under, he predicts.

    FEW BENEFITS FOR BUSINESS

Some Greeks believe quitting the euro would boost the country's economy as a devalued drachma would make Greek exports cheaper.

But Constantine Michalos, president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says Greece doesn't have a strong enough export-oriented economy to take advantage of a devalued currency. The country currently imports twice as much as it exports.

"Without any real heavy industry, the Greek economy can't exploit this advantage," Michalos said. "Our main industry is tourism, but in a chaotic situation, which tourist would choose to come to Greece right after the country goes back to the drachma?"

To get its international bailouts, Greece had to embark on a series of economic and market reforms such as reducing a bloated public sector and cutting red tape. Agapitos warns that if Greece dumps the euro, the incentive to carry out these reforms would evaporate, hurting Greece's competitiveness.

GETTING IT ON THE BLACK MARKET

A drachma that is dwindling in value means that even basic, foreign-produced goods such as medicines or fuel will cost much more. Almost inevitably, a thriving black market would emerge, taking more steam out of the economy just as bank loans become much more difficult to pay off.

Vangelis, a 58-year-old former customs official who didn't want to give his full name, worried that going back to the drachma would return Greece to the abject poverty of 1940s when it was under Nazi occupation.

"We'll be paying half our salary for a can of olive oil ... Greeks can't be thinking about returning to the drachma. It would be a catastrophe, a catastrophe," Vangelis said.

TURNING TO A LIFE OF CRIME?

With all the pain a drachma-based economy would induce, IOBE head of research Aggelos Tsakanikas foresees an increase in crime as people struggle to pay bills. "We won't see tanks in the streets and violence, we won't see people starving in the streets, but crime could very well rise," he said.

Others reject the apocalyptic scenarios altogether, saying Greeks will fall back on their resourcefulness to overcome hard times and lend a hand to those less well off.

"The way things are now, it can't get any worse," says Athens resident Tasos Schinas, 37. "Sure, the transition to the drachma will be difficult (but) average people will find a way to survive, many will probably go back to the village and start growing produce ... We just won't go back to the lifestyle we've led all this time."

Agapitos, the analyst, thinks that attitude is too cavalier.

"Desperate people do desperate things, but I can't predict what will happen," he said. "There will be rage and people will want to vent it but it may not be done in a civilized way."
